It was watching him struggle with his desire for her, his need of punishment and ultimately his undoing. This version mirrors the source material so well that it adds very little to the story, merely filtering the events through a less sympathetic lens. On 1 June 2015 James announced that she was in the process of writing another book in the Fifty Shades series due to popular demand from her fanbase. It is essentially the same story, but here the reader gets to discover more about Christian, who is a far more fascinating character than Anastasia. However, these characters intrigue me considerably, for reasons I can’t quite get a handle on, but I think it has to do with the potential for depth in these characters.

There is also a lot of description around the mundanities of any action, which is just filling space on the page. Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab . Shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him — past the business prodigy and penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold wounded heart. A flashback to this period would have offered further insight to Christian’s point of view, perhaps a flashback to the fight that he has that gets him in trouble as a teenager (as told by Mia in 50 Shades Darker) or showing an example of Christian’s interaction with girls his own age at that time. She displays a compelling blend of vulnerability and backbone and finally feels like a character women can get behind … Best of all the book allows readers direct access to Christian Grey’s deepest, darkest thoughts … It is fascinating to read the story with fresh eyes too, having glimpsed Christian’s traumatic childhood and gained an understanding of his motivations.James - your beta readers and/or editor failed a bit with the "have a lie in" and other very British phrasings that weren't switched around for us 'Muricans. pero yo a la trilogía le guardo un poco de cariño, y este libro llegó a hacerme dudar de dicho cariño, hahaha. When I finished Fifty Shades Freed, the POV chapters at the end made me want to devour the books all over again. There's a reason these books appeal to the WASP community at large: we are the opposite of hardcore.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty - until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. I’m not speaking about the story itself because being a male POV I knew exactly what was coming (and to be honest I did skim a bit).Every time he would acknowledge that weird feeling in his chest whenever Ana would do or say something affectionate, I was swooning. Christian hopes that his relationship with Ana will relieve the effects of a traumatic childhood, but his dark sexual proclivities and self-loathing drive Ana away. I’ll keep this review fairly short, most people have read Fifty Shades so there is no need to rehash that story. Christian Grey’s candid narrative gives the familiar story a raw, passionate and much sexier context . Of course, we were likely to encounter the same scenes and outward displays of affection in both books, considering they mirror each other to a certain extent, but we do not get enough exposure to Christian’s true feelings which is what I was hoping for as a reader.

James’ books took the book world by storm and broke boundaries; book virgins succumbed to her devilish penmanship which left us in awe! A few are reflections of his childhood with the Greys, and there is a little with Elena and his submissives, too. Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty--until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair.He finds humor where he would usually be irritated, and he sees possibility even though he knows he has no business pursuing her. Honestly, I'm not terribly worried about that in Rabid Reads space, b/c lovers of speculative fiction tend to be a less judgmental crowd.

From a business perspective, I applaud the decision to release a version of a book that has already been published that is largely the same as the book that has already been published. I do my usual workout at my fully-equipped private gym - those six-pack abs don't maintain themselves, my trainer always reminds me! According to Grey, Christian is completely focused on work and he is determined to maintain his dominant persona. However, I would have loved to have been surprised, to have seen an improvement in James’s writing skills.Primero que nada, el libro desde la perspectiva de Christian definitivamente NO era necesario, menos después de tanto tiempo. His character is broken and compelling, and his story is well worth reading even if you already know Anastasia’s.
