This special leaf-shutter system allows its tiny built-in flash to balance with any harsh light, day or night. Together, these four things make the X100 series a deservedly popular choice among street and travel snappers. But I agree with you; a compact camera, a good lens and a few add on's like multiple bracketing to get HDR or taking five pics to create a panorama at home which the x100 does, it offers versatility. Instead, it’s the ideal walkaround camera for keen photographers who see that 23mm f/2 lens as liberating rather than a frustrating limitation.

The battery now lasts up to approximately 350 frames per charge when using the EVF or approximately 420 frames per charge when using the OVF. In the hand, the X100V feels not unlike the much more affordable Fujifilm X-A7, in terms of size and weight. This is as I shoot JPGs straight out of the camera; if you shoot raw then you most likely can create any look you like in your software. Continue making images in challenging weather conditions and have peace of mind when nature takes an unexpected turn. The back of the body offers a small selection of buttons, a focus point joystick, and a tilting touchscreen. They are good cameras but good lord they are not worth what they are going for on the used market right now. To Dpreview: can you check sample gallery from Fujifilm X100V review, it takes you to Fujifilm X-T200 sample gallery. Zoomed images don't fill the 4:3 aspect-ratio electronic finder; they only fill the top 3:2 aspect-ratio section while leaving the bottom black.

Various settings, including Film Simulations, can be applied to each exposure to produce a unique creative expression completely in-camera. However, it still maintains the same overall size and compatibility with legacy WCL/TCL lens attachments, which gives image-makers additional angle of views equivalent to 28mm and 50mm on 35mm Format. It’s a small thing, but makes it more user-friendly if you like to shoot regularly in full manual mode. No way to select among the three different Auto ISO settings when using the camera's rear dial to set ISO when the ISO dial is set to "C. Build quality is overall very high, but the multipurpose SS/ISO dial feels as well built as my son's Lego, and the on/off switch gets knocked to on way to easily, leading to overheating and battery drain, already issues in their own right, whether shooting stills or video. allowing the built-in flash to have far more range than with the 20-times-slower sync speeds of focal plane shutters of interchangeable-lens cameras.

Nice images for sure, but it overheated on me shooting video indoors too many times and the shut-down was pretty early, and you had to wait far too long for it to cool down. The subject detection AF frame jumps all over the place and often even misses the subject completely. Really the only down side to the XT-2 that I can can see for my uses is that the battery life is total ass. About the Author - Ross Jukes is a professional Photographer and Videographer with over a decade of experience. As such, video-related work should ideally be done atop a tripod or gimbal, unless you're okay with shaky recordings.I use my original black X100 always into OVF mode - no need for it's EVF, whileas i could use it, when i'd want to. The Fujifilm X100V is the best compact camera of its kind and a brilliant street photography sidekick, but it’s important to know what you’re letting yourself in for. I do have to raise the ISO super high for the lowest light situations and I manual focus with it but man I get some fantastic results especially since I can't use my DLSR's during audio recording. With smartphone cameras becoming ever smarter, and pro-grade cameras becoming more feature-packed, it's nice to go back to those simpler times. The x70 was truly compact which featuring many of the feature of the x100v, but in a more svelte package and a bit less poseur.

Interesting comments about how face detect works, I'm not sure I'd seen some of it explained in detail in past Fuji reviews.I don't know if you've read my review from a while back but that one was the first ever camera I could see replacing my Fujis. Like all Fujifilm digital cameras, the X100 V's as-shot JPG color palette and contrasts are quite sedate; optimized strongly for outstanding people photos. The corner of the body is home to Fujifilm’s unique hybrid viewfinder allowing you to either look directly at your photographed scene through the body with all the necessary information projected into it or, at the flick of a switch, use a bright electronic viewfinder of decent resolution and framerate.
