Description

It has 4 LED illumination settings: Off, Cockpit (pulsing light that phases through a green-and-yellow gradient), Beam (steady glow from the lamp's bottom), and All On.

Here the battery pack leads have been connected to the connector pins on the barrel of the switch, which can be seen protruding from the inside of the bowl, which, sadly, I neglected to paint (the inside of the bowl, not the switch). If you're running a script or application, please register or sign in with your developer credentials here. There are a couple of ways to do this, but being an old plastic modeler from waaaaayyy back, I have boxes of old model parts, and I just happened to find a piece of old clear sprue from some long-forgotten kit. The inner set is used for mounting the reflector in place, and the outer set is used to screw the plate in place on top of the glass.i think it’s the rounded shape of the UFO and the waveyness of your plastic glass, they’re both great touches! No press-on leads were available in such small sizes, so I fabricated a couple out of sheet brass, and soldered them to the ends of the switch leads coming from the LED PCB.

have a cult following and are hugely popular showing the appetite for extra-terrestrial beings is huge. You won’t want to glue them together now because when it’s all set up nicely, you’ll paint the bowls flying saucer color. With the three mounting holes drilled around the rim of the bowl, you can place the bowl on top of the plate, and either mark and drill the holes in the plate, or tape the bowl securely to the plate (LOTS of tape!

I marked the location of the three mounting holes at 120 degree intervals arond the edge of the bowl, propped up the lip of the bowl on a block of wood so the drill bit would have a solid surface to drill against (see figure below), and drilled the holes. If you think the aliens should abduct something else, simply substitute the cow for any other object that fits inside the tractor beam. The cow is removable and can be replaced with anything that fits within the tractor beam which is 15cm tall with a 13cm diameter at the bottom, thinning to 4. Also, in this picture, the chrome reflector from the one-touch light is already mounted to the top of the acrylic glass with it's three mounting screws instead of being shown with the rest of the one-touch light parts. The light lights up the cow, and shines down inside the glass, making the glass look just like a transporter beam.

To attach it, I de-soldered the black battery lead from the PCB and soldered the battery holder black lead in it's place, then desoldered the end of the red lead from the resistor, and resoldered the resistor lead to the red lead from the battery holder. If you want the aliens abducting another animal, you can just substitute the miniature cow for example with another tiny animal. I’m a big sci fi fan especially of the aliens and i have ton of those little quarter machine aliens that I’ve collected and this will be a cool way to put them to use.

Superior beings have engineered the most out of this world table lamp, making those that hold it the envy of all other life forms.

ADVANCED TECH - The UFO lamp is equipped with energy-efficient LEDs that can be controlled with a simple touch. With all three screws in place, thread a nut over each screw where it protrudes from the bottom of the plate, tighten them down, and except for some finishing details, your Alien Abduction Lamp is now complete. I wish I could even remember where I took this photo, which I just found, dated August 2014, on the camera roll in my iPad. Straight from the X-Files and back by popular demand comes our authentic UFO (lamp) abducting a grazing Holstein cow right up into the bowels of this unholy craft. In addition to the beaming-up Bessie, the table lamp's flying saucer also sports glow-in-the-dark little green men heads with bulbous eyes peeking out of each of its windows. Made from galvanised steel for a highly polished chrome effect spaceship, energy efficient colour changing LED lights, alien pilots that come in peace, real fake grass, scratch resistant acrylic beam and an unsuspecting cow.
